We are Vital Maintenance and Construction Ltd and we are passionate about property. Our company is a family run business based in Orpington, Kent and we specialise in maintenance, refurbishment and construction projects.

Before we founded Vital in 2004 we ran our own property rental business. We started buying properties back in 2000 and our newly acquired properties required renovation, refurbishment or alterations. After the work was complete the properties needed ongoing maintenance and repair.

Our family handled all the renovation and maintenance works. Through working on our own properties, we were able to hone our skills over time. We all studied the skills of the trade and turned our enthusiasm and dedication into knowledge and craftsmanship.

When we founded Vital we specialised in refurbishment. We have since evolved and we have expanded into building and construction work and also undertake commercial work such as shop fit-outs.

Throughout our history we have remained true to our core values of sharing our knowledge and expertise and supporting the local community.

Our staff

Our staff are the heart of our business. They are the secret of our success and they continue to drive our business forward. We have a team of 16 full time employees who have been with us for years and are drawn from the local community. We invest heavily in our staff to ensure they work to the highest standards.

All our staff are fully compliant with the latest industry regulations. They are City and Guilds qualified, NICEIC Registered, Gas Safe Registered and Part P compliant.

Our staff are highly skilled tradesmen who take great pride in their work. You can be assured that any work we carry out for you will be beautifully crafted and have an impeccable finish.

Working on your building or refurbishment project

We will be pleased to undertake any project you have in mind, however big or small. We can carry out everything from routine maintenance to refurbishment and construction.

Once you have engaged us, we will take responsibility for all aspects of the project. We are very proactive in responding to our customers and you can always reach us during office hours.

A works manager will be dedicated to your project and his job will be to oversee your project with meticulous attention to detail, to ensure everything runs smoothly and your project is completed on time and within budget. Your works manager will be your single point of contact and will remain so from the start of the project to the final sign off. He will liaise with the various tradesmen involved in your project on your behalf. You will be given his mobile phone number to ensure you can reach him at any time. This will give you peace of mind throughout the project. If you prefer you can also reach us via our email account which is monitored constantly.

We will source materials using our contacts in the industry to ensure you have the best quality at the best possible prices. Our suppliers have a vast selection of materials available and we will help you choose the appropriate materials for your budget with the highest quality finish. We buy in volume and we pass our savings directly to you.

We offer full public liability insurance for each project.

We have a strong customer service ethos which we have instilled in all members of our team. We aim not just to meet your expectations but to exceed them.

Our terms of payment

Right from the outset, we will present you with a quote which will be fully detailed, itemised and sent to you via email and post. There are no hidden costs and because we have directly employed staff, we do not add a margin for sub-contractors.

For minor works, your payment will be taken once you sign off the works. For larger projects, we will agree staged payments with you in advance and take the final payment only when you sign off the completed works.
